Wow! About the time I think I’m getting a handle on what’s happening another door opens and the horizon flips 90 degrees. I’m wondering if it’s more important to have processing power in terms of CPU (standard IT thinking) or multiple low end computers with communications (internet) capabilities. Access to the internet has to win out initially – allow students a peek into the possibilities and turn on their dream switches. Then, as they progress toward more difficult projects they’ll seek out their own processing power.

I’ve just twittered, ning’ed, rss’d, moodled, twined (well I was there but decided not to) and I’ve got to admit I’m feeling kinda bloggy. How do people find the time to keep up with all this ________, (be nice there’s more than four _’s). I’m at a loss as to how to describe it. I’m all for social networking but at times I miss the privacy of my closest family and friends. I may privatize my ning for family pictures and video and keep it for a select few. I wonder… will the social networks eventually include the intelligence to allow for visitors to password through the various inner circles of trust into the “I’ll be completely honest with you level” the way that humans do naturally? I don’t know about you but I’m a real body language enthusiast, and the avatars I see never flinch. Are they bored? Are they listening? Are they making fun of me?
I’ve just finished my homework for CSE 627 which means (weather permitting) I’ll be hiking on Saturday. I’ve put several pages on my blog to help organize/differentiate between “fun”/”work”/”class”/etc. but I’m not sure if pages are the best way to accomplish my objective. This is where the real learning occurs…
